I suppose in your world he never wound up on his back in the third and never took any leg kicks. Mousasi looked horrible tonight. Why are you trying to say otherwise? He was injured so we can overlook it but it was not an impressive debut and one that points towards failure in my eyes. He'll never make it through the UFC's muderer's row of wrestlers. After that bull**** today I'd pick Ryan ****ing Bader to beat him and that's bad.
He wound up on his back for about fifteen seconds and took one leg kick of note. That didn't make up for much. If we are going to talk leg kicks, Gegard landed more of those, too. He didn't look nearly as bad as you are making it seem. He fought very safely, but still put on a dominant performance.
Few thoughts. De Fries has one of the worst chins ever. McGregor is the real deal. Loads of interesting fights for him at 145lbs as well.
Mousasi didn't look bad but sometimes he's so willing to go into cruise control what's to say it won't translate into some of his important fights as well?
I knew something was wrong with Gegard...it was too obvious. However,....sometimes I think he is too patient. He is clearly more effective against guys who push the fight to him. He likes to be the counter fighter.
Latifi is apparently some gun wrestler who hardly attempted a take down the whole fight. I couldn't believe him trying to stand with mousasi. Not having a real go but stand there and try trade boxing style. Latifi had a moronic plan for a fighter last night. atsch Giving Latifi round 3 because of a half assed take down merely shows a bias judging criteria on your part. Mousasi showed dominate cage control, effective striking, aggression, defense the entire fight. Excellent multi layered boxing technique. which was great to watch knowing his conditions He isn't the kind of lame ass rashad evans style caution.
Mousasi is not a large man. Hell, he can make 185. He is in a division packed with beasts that come down from a much higher weight. He has to rely on skill and precision.
