I think one of the problems is the cost and overheads involved in filming boxing can run into £100,000's even for a small hall show like the one in Liverpool on Friday.

For the same price or even cheaper he can buy an international fight like the one from Macau or Donaire-Rigondueax which boxing fans care more about so running your own tv channel is a double edged sword...yes you don't have to worry about Sky/BBC/Channel 5 to give you dates but on other hand you have to stump up all the cash even for show's that don't make you any money on the gate alone so by putting on the show in Liverpool on Friday he could have lost close to £100,000 which hardly makes business sense even if it's shitty for the boxers involved.

 

any reason why he pulled out a week ago (according to rumour obviously) as Spike has still been training away

Ticket sales were no doubt poor, having this so close to the Matchroom show wasn't the best idea though.

I see it two ways. Feel for the fighters but Franks demise pleases me greatly. 1 show at the York Hall this year.

 

Poor ticket sales is my guess. Needs to start getting his logistics right, it's what Hearn does very well.

About shows cancelled i remember this show already been postponed,groves/degale double header cancelled last year,several box academys been cancelled,burns lost 2 opponents before xmas as well as vazquez.Thats off top of my head.Probaly more

Also ive noticed a serious lack of good opponents in big fights in last 18 months which is another knock on of boxnation
