Juan Manuel Marquez vs Prince Naseem Hamed

i see JMM getting knocked down once or twice but coming on strong in the later half of the fight doing enough to win a UD

 

Really bad matchup for Hamed.


Although, he would have JMM on the canvas a couple times.

 

Theres a reason Hamed stayed the **** away from JMM. 12-0

 

marquez would never get dropped at 126. Guy was a pure counter puncher, not the exciting boxer puncher he later became. Hamed wouldnt have touched him

 

JMM would pick him apart just like MAB was able to....But Juan was a little more defensive at that time.

I could actually see Marquez getting a stoppage win in this as i doubt he'd be short on opportunities to counter considering Hamed would likely leave his hands down leaving himself open to uppercuts as he leans in.

 

The Naz that fought Barrera would probably get beat by JMM in a hard fight. A prime Naz would be a different story altogether.

 

Hamed stopped in the mid rounds, most likely in devastating fashion given his defensive frailties.

I'm fed up of this stupid myth. Goddammit! The Naz that fought Steve Robinson was the same one that fought Kevin Kelley and Tom Johnson. And that was EXACTLY the same one that fought Barrera. The only difference was he knew he was up against the real deal, and from the beginning wasn't comfortable. Hence his chickening out of his flip over the top rope. His psyche was damaged, but nothing else.

JMM isn't stopping him. He'll beat Naz, but not stop him. I see an competitive but clear win for Marquez, with knockdowns both ways.

 

JMM UD, could see Prince knocking him down but losing UD is sure simply JMM is proven on a ATG level(vs ATG fighters) while Prince clearly never was on that level.

 

It happens sometimes when you face ATG fighter (MAB) for a first time you tend to look past it:rofl because there is huge diference in beating b level fighters and beatin A level ATG fighters:yep

 

Of course it was the same Naz but his training went **** and he was not mentally right on the night. He had drink thrown over him on the way to the ring, he could not do his flip (I heard it was the gloves) and lost all focus. His timing was way off, his reflexes were non-existant and he appeared to have no gameplan.

Of course Barrera was absolutely sound that night and fought one of the best fights he ever fought, he made Naz his ***** in there. Naz would always retalliate if a fighter got rough, he's body-slammed an opponent just for leaning on him (Soto I think), but for some reason he let MAB smash him into a ringpost, without even trying to get his own back.

It just wasn't the Naz I watched since his debut.

 

Marquez would probably get dropped once or twice but he would come back to school Hamed before stopping him.

 

Of course, what you say is very true but like I said to ApatheticLeader, it was not Naz at his best againsed Barrera.
