141 is a terrible catchweight. Dirty politics.

IBF belt is probably the worst of the belts to have anyway

  4. That doesn't really make any sense. Matthysse is easily imo the best of GBPs 140 stable, he'd run right through Khan, Garcia & PEDerson. So not only is he the best of them but he has everything that is needed to be a star, very exciting & freakish punching power.

Why would GBP not allow this potential superstar to break out ? Khan and PEDerson will never be Mayweather opponents, Garcia could be but then so could Matthysse. So again I'm finding it hard to see why GBP wouldn't want the cream to rise to the top.

Not a native English speaker, doesn't draw ticket sales or TV buys, doesn't have a powerful manager, etc...

The same reason why Top Rank always favoured Juanma over Gamboa, despite Gamboa obviously the much better fighter and someone that would cut through Juanma. Some fighters, because of their non-English speaking background and lack of home support (Cubans and Argentinians often suffer from this), find it incredibly difficult to become decent draws.

Garcia with American/Puertio Rican background, PEDerson being American and having gained notoriety from the Khan fight, and Khan being Khan, make them all more marketable than Matthysse. GBP would prefer it if they carried the belts and continued winning, instead of an unknown Argentinian who's only appreciated by a few hardcore boxing fans.

Lucas is going to have to do things the Hagler way, keep winning, leaving no chance for dodgy decisions.

Hes being held to a different standard than his peers, but this has been happening for years for the reasons outlined in earlier posts.

Lucas doesn't want to fight for a real world title, because he wants to keep the interim one instead. Yeah, makes sense, Richard.

It'll be embarrassing if Matthyse savagely KO's him in the first 3 rounds and Peterson then gives interviews claiming to be world champion afterwards!

Why would he sort something he made happen? It was their idea of doing this.
