What would the weight limit be like? Frank Juarez Shamrock with the edge due to his sick submission skills. Don't think he wants to exchange kicks with Silva.

I would go with Frank, I just feel at the time Frank would have had more ways to win than Wand. The main scenario I could see in this fight would be Frank using Wand's own aggressiveness against him. Frank was a pretty intelligent fighter I've always felt especially around that time I just think around 99/00 he would have had the greener Wand's number at that point.

    Silva via TKO

Too big for Frank, Tito could not impose his size on Shamrock because Shamrock was an all round better grappler/fighter than Tito, Wanderlei would have bulldozer'd through him with stand up, and would have held his own from his back on the ground.

I feel Shamrock was simply too small for Wandy back then, and he'd have been flattened!

    By todays standards ....... yes!

For his time, he was ahead of his generation in every discipline, he was the first "well rounded" guy in MMA. His stand up was solid.

Valid points fella, dont really see size being to much of an issue with these two though. Wandy put on a lot of his bulk when he partook in his ''Japanese diet'' so too speak and was actually quiet slender. Plus Tito took him down because Wandy tried to bulldoze him, leaving himself vunerable to the TD. If I recall the very 1st TD was a Tito slam after a Silva flurry

Always felt that in this period of time his the fight happen then Wandys aggression would count against him in this one

    Yep,

Its a good point actually, my mind was pre-occupied by the Silva that followed this period, and not actually at this point in time.

Id probably lean towards Silva of 03 myself over prime Frank, but thought this is an interesting ''What if'' like Hughes v Anderson when Silva was Shooto Champ and they did a short cross promotion around that time

Yeah, it was supposed to happen, UFC even posted top 10 fighters rankings with both Shooto and UFC guys on it at one point in time

But for some reason Sakurai got the Hughes fight instead

Wanderlei had a great ground game. He just chose to keep fights standing.
