I dont believe haye is the worlds biggest p4p puncher. There are devestating punchers at most weights Danny garcia Sergio martinez Nonito donaire James kirkland Alfredo angulo Marcos maidana Lucian bute Ruslan provodnikov Are a few who have one punch knock out power along with haye Agreed with afolabis knockout of dunstan was devestating Back to britain obviously david price is a power puncher and carl frampton can be a one punch finisher
Haye easily. Froch after that I'd say, given that he's hurt and stopped some world class fighters.... Not on the same level as Haye though, who is capable of one-shotting opponents in a way that Froch can't. The amateur scene just doesn't produce punchers unfortunately. We won't be seeing replicas of Nigel Benn any time soon. Edit - from abroad, I think you've got to consider guys like Wlad Klitschko, Pacquiao (who unbelievably hasn't scored a KO for over three years :yikes), Donaire etc. Rafa Marquez was one who was murderous, opponents stayed hit once they felt a 1-2 from him.
Worldwide Donaire, Golovkin, Matthysse, Wlad and Haye IMO. Maybe Kovalev too, would need to see more of him
I dread to think what would happen to an opponent if one of Haye's seriously wild right hooks that he throws from time to time ever landed. :-(
Painful to say but David Haye is the biggest puncher in British boxing by a country mile... I'd give Carl Froch second
How can the amatures not produce punchers, Haye was a amatuer silver medal world champion and without injury would of been commonwealth games champ
Why on Earth were you shocked? Anyone who didn't forecast a Haye stoppage in that fight clearly doesn't understand how styles and levels mesh. Chisora was always getting KO'd in that fight. Del Boy was always getting smashed by very hard, very fast punches thrown at shoulder height i.e. not lanky guys punching down or the opposite. No.
Because we regularly see ''top amateur prospects'' being taken six rounds by very average journeymen. The same type of journeyman that the likes of Ricky Hatton were wasting inside a couple of rounds. And proper knockouts too, not bull**** stoppages that we see so often. Haye is a freak in this day and age, amongst ex-British amateur stars.
