Julio Cesar Chavez loaded gloves?

Either Steel was on the take or just incompetent. He should not have stopped that fight, if a guy beats the count, is standing on his own two feet and there's less than 10 seconds to go in a fight he was probably winning you do not stop it.

Having said that I'll now say this, if not for Lou Duva been a ****ing idiot, Taylor would have responded to Steel who would have let him continue. The sad thing about it all is that that fight ruined Taylor, he poured everything he had into it and deserved the victory but by a series of stupid people doing stupid things he had it taken away from him.

If a guy is out on his feet it's a TKO. It doesn't matter if there's 1 sec or 2 minutes to go in the round.

 

That was over the entire distance of the fight, and Meldrick was busted up inside a lot worse than his face was. I've seen much worse.

Margarito is Chavez Sr.'s close friend. Chavez Sr. was at the ringside when Margarito fought Cotto in the first fight, and he jumped into the ring to hug Margarito after that cheater beat Cotto by way of KO.

So your assumption could be true. I think that way too even though I was a big fan of Chavez.

In my opinion, how can a skinny fighters like Chavez and Trinidad hit that hard? It could be either illegal hand wrap or loaded gloves.

Not really. Unless in a very short amount of time, the face starts falling to pieces. It's why I have a strong suspicion of Margarito in the first Cotto fight. All of a sudden, in a matter of two rounds, Cotto's face was swollen and torn up. But Chavez was getting to Taylor earlier than that and just kept coming on, blow after blow. I mean did Taylor's face look much different than Berto's after Guerrero swelled him up?

Chavez beat him up pretty badly in the first fight but let's not go overboard. Taylor beat Davis and Brown within 2 years of that loss and both were very highly regarded welterweights at the time. That said, the rematch definitely ruined him for good.

 

Chavez was a beast. That fight also destroyed his career. He stopped training hard. Became a diva, started partying, drugs, even more hos. He lost focus after that attempted murder.

Go watch legendary nights about chavez vs taylor,and see how taylors team did not want that ref cause he was known to be a chavez ref with bias for chavez.

The red light behind him showed there was only seconds left,..he iknew exactly what he was doing.

i do think chavez and other fighter went there whole careers with plaster loaded gloves.
Boxers face dont get like taylor and cotto's face from normal gloves.
Also,
look at the chavez jr scandel were he was caught doping in the past,and then i think it was the rubio fight were he didnt want to let his gloves be examined!..hmmmmm..like father like son.

 

People accusing of bias/corrupt refereeing etc, need to look at the facts.

Taylor was hurt. Taylor had been knocked down. Taylor did not respond to the referee's instructions.

If this happens in any other round, it's the end of the fight. Why should it be different in the last? In this line of thinking, any good boxer only needs to box for 11 and a half rounds to get the victory.

Chavez put in hard work just like Taylor had done, to score that KD. It's the hardest thing to do in boxing. Why should anyone get a pass from the usual rules because they were winning up until then? What a ****ing ludicrous argument.

Taylor lost. Chavez didn't get lucky. Steele didn't change the rules. Taylor was simply knocked down with seconds to go and didn't show any real signs of awareness to suggest he could carry on fighting.

 

At what point in his career did Chavez start wearing loaded gloves?

I only ask because although I agree there is a high chance there are fighters going into the HOF who will have cheated in some form, you can't just throw these accusations around without any grounding whatsoever.

And another thing, Cotto broke his nose early on in the fight from what I've read. Taking uppercuts on the ropes might lead to that. The blood form his nose spread across his face, but it wasn't any more swollen than any other fighter's face considering the amount of punches he had taken.
