What are all your philosophies on regards to coming back upstairs after body shots? I like to follow bodyshots up with a double jab sometimes, or after putting a 1,2,7 combo I try to follow that up with a 2,3,2. What do you guys do?

I also like ending combinations up with a double jab sometimes to make my opponent think I'm coming back with even more punches

Always finish to the head. And by finishing I mean power shots. For instance Jab, Cross, Left Hook to the Body, Cross, Hook. If you finish a combo with a double jab, step out with each jab to create a new angle.

I like throwing to the head after because it will discourage them from trying to catch you as you dip, my coach taught me to always come up with something after. Usually it would either be a jab to the body and a straight right up top, or a jab to the head, straight right to the body and a left hook up top.

If you are throwing to the body most likely you are in range to be hit and therefore if you end a combination there you have to do SOMETHING afterwards whether it be defensive or offensive. That doesn't necessarily mean going to the head.

For example if you have already created an angle before you throw the bodyshot you can do whatever you want after. Circle out, jab out, power shot etc. There are a lot of good options when going to the body, you can even initiate the clinch which a lot of pros do like B-Hop.

Going head body head is obviously a good technique but it also well known. and widely used. A lot of higher level guys will expect that big hook to the head after catching a body shot and be ready to counter.
