EXACTLY! Burns never used to be a puncher, but he was at Super Feather Weight. Now he is at Lightweight he looks a lot more comfortable, and is a lot stronger at that weight. He has finally found the punch power
Also, Mitchell is no mug. he is a potential world champion if he sorts all hes demons out. Burns is the real deal IMO. The only threat I see to him is Broner
Hurting some one and being a puncher are two different things in fact Paulie rocked both Cotto and Juan Diaz.
Put it this way Bruno beat Mcall with out getting KTFO with single punch and Maskiev KTFO of Rahman with out also getting KTFO with a single punch unlike Lewis. Yet both have way inferior chins. Also I was joking about Mitchell hence the unprepared part, but he is chinny as **** outside domestic level. The Liverpool boys Price,Derry Matthews and Paul Smith have to be up there.
Having a great chin (not quite the same as punch resistance I know) is hardly something to brag about for a boxer IMO. If we see plenty of evidence of your chin holding up well, it kind of implies that you're lax defensively and to me defence is a big attribute for a boxer. You can't really control how you take punches so in my mind, prevailing and getting to a high standard even if you have dodgy whiskers indicates you're doing something right elsewhere and should be applauded as such.
Johanneson on his day was a monster domestically...I was a couple of rows back at the Gomez fight and I honestly thought that someone was going to get killed
Anybody who says.. Audley Harrison, Amir Khan.......don't know boxing. Danny Williams these days does have bad punch resistance, but during his first career he had decent resistant in my opinion, and good mental strength under pressure. He took the last, LAST of Mike Tyson's punches thrown with bad intention. Too bad Mike Tyson damaged his knee in their fight, which affected his punch technique and delivery but still! Williams stood up to some bad intentions.
