He's just not as good as people make him out to be. He fights smaller opponents and can't work unless the other guy opens up. Rigo wasn't having that
Donaire was a great champion, but offensively isn't effective against guys who don't come forward or stand in front of him. Defensively, he's poor. Overrated is a fair comment.
Just because you lose a fight your not done. Good learning experience for him, his stock will drop a little bit but I expect him to come back more ferocious and another top tier guy.
Why can't people give both fighters credit? Rigo was the superior boxer in there but suddenly Donaire sucks and is a **** fighter. Boxing fans are ****ing **** sometimes.
Shocked by what happened. Donaire lost me 200 vCash lol Donaire won 2 rounds, the 10-8 round and the second round. Donaire is now going to take over a years break, will he come back stronger? Rigo - sky is the limit. He has huge punching power AND is an unbelievably slick defensive counter puncher. Having a virtual whitewash on your resume against Donaire is ****ing crazy.
He doesn't suck. He beats everyone at 122 except for Rigo, obviously. All the Rigo haters claiming his glass jaw was going to shatter....I can only laugh. Dude took a few of ND's flush shots like a champ. Got knocked down, but got up and was like, "I ain't even mad, bro. I got this." One thing I find very interesting - Donaire gets rid of Conte. Then Donaire ends up losing a fight in a big way and can't even put a guy who supposedly has a glass jaw on ***** street. Hmm.
First off, I predicted Donaire to win within 8 rounds. I was sticking my neck out, but based on the eye test, that was what I predicted. I scored the fight 115-112 Rigondeaux. Secondly, why is there a need to dismantle every top fighter ever? If someone loses, the chances are they were simply beaten by the better man. I hate this online culture whereby "fans" feel the need to denigrate, even insult, a fighter simply because he lost. Donaire lost because Rigondeaux implemented his gameplan, which is going to be damn near impossible for anyone to overcome if and when he is on song. The style just did not match up for Donaire. Nonito looked poor generally tonight, but that is only because he fought a guy who is clearly a step ahead of him. Why not take this stance, crazy as it may seem, that Donaire is a great fighter, but Rigondeaux is a really great fighter. Is that too positive?
The 0 didn't matter as much before, even the greatest lost and many before him. I might be abit harsh here but I hope Rigo manages to sell, his fighting ability is top 5 p4p easy... but it's tough for the casuals to enjoy it.
