It is important to put things in the proper perspective before the Rigondeaux accolades become overwhelming.
Well.. did Gomez ever fight anyone slick? I would say Gomez by KO, but I don't know much about his fights at Super Bantamweight where he was the best at.
Rigo could bust Bazooka up... But I think in the end, Bazooka could find a way to land something big. Bazooka late rounds stoppage.
Gomez is my boy, but I think Rigo takes it. Just looking at how they fight, boxing has evolved and not to mention Rigo's freakish talent
Gomez was both a great boxer & puncher. Being Rigondeaux is a southpaw, Gomez would have to neutralize that first. Gomez did have a a tendency to "puff up", but he was the ultimate finisher...and known to throw some punches below the belt to slow his opponent down. Plus, more than likely the fight would have ended up down in San Juan.
Well Gomez won the World Amateurs Championships in Havana, Cuba by knocking everyone out, including every cuban put in front of him. If theres a guy that had a field day against cubans, it was Gomez. And it doesnt help that Rigondeaux has gotten shook or dropped in a couple of his fights. Gomez ko 5
Evolved? You're aware that Gomez boxed during the golden age of boxing. The BEST era of talent and skill.
