Prior to Pacquaio's third fight with Marquez, we always believe his blinding speed, power and explosiveness will give Mayweather, Jr. difficulties, and will make it a competitive clash.

Well, today's fight showed us what would have happened had they met.

I don't know if I see that. Pacman would have been busier and had Floyd in more exchanges than Donaire had Rigo in.

Not really. Just because one is a counter puncher, and the other seemed aggressive does not equate to Mayweather and Pacquiao.

    Also - Pacquiao >>>> Donaire.

Also - Donaire likes to draw mistakes and counter on the front foot a lot more than Pacquiao does.

Also - Mayweather is not southpaw.

Also - Pacquiao is not orthodox.

    I can go on...

Rigo is kinda similar to Floyd in the way he lowers his opponents out put and makes them begin to doubt them selves..

making top rated fighters look ordinary is something only a legendary fighter can do..

I think he means the fights would have resembled as in, Pac-PBF would have been a surprisingly one sided fight most thought would be competitive. A schooling, not similar in styles.

Do you think Mayweather can move the way Rigo did this fight? Plus, is Pacquiao in anyway similar to Donaire, other than being Filipino himself? Rigondeaux was a notch above one of the best lower weights fighters in recent times. It's a credit to him that he basically outclassed a top 5 p4p champion. And it's got nothing on Floyd, who himself, has never faced and beat this caliber of a fighter in the past 5 years.

Well you can't really make a prediction like that without going in to styles, and the styles of both boxers don't match the others.

It's like people who use Marquez as their basis that Mayweather would beat Pacquiao.

I am not saying Rigo compares to Floyd yet, but the difference is this guy looks like he will fight anyone and not sweat it, which is not like Floyd at all. This guy Rigo is what Marvin Hagler called calm cool and collected. And Rigo might not have scored a knockout in this fight, but that is only because Donaire has heart and has great speed himself Some of those lefts by Rigo would have knocked out most guys.

He would have been busier compared to Donaire but overall, Mayweather, Jr. would have a field time countering and making him pay for his bunches of punches, for a lopsided win.

Not really prior to this fight, Donaire look ordinary against some lesser fighter than Rigo

    Exactly.

Either that, or he could have a knocked-out loss since he would try be so aggressive and desperate for exchanges knowing he is down in the cards.

Pacquiao would be busier and Mayweather would get it far more cleaner shots including counters on Pacquiao because of that. I see Pacquiao getting only 12-14% of his shots and possibly getting stopped 8-11 rds though Mayweather winning 11-1 is more likely. Donaire is much more skilled and knows what defense is too.

    This .

The only thing that would be similar between these two fights is colour of the fighters..
