Tier 1 - Mayweather (#1) Tier 2 - Ward, JMM, Rigondeaux (#2-4) Tier 3 - Martinez (#5) Tier 4 - Pacquaio (#6) Tier 5 - Wlad, Donaire (#7-8) Tier 6 - Broner, Froch, Mares, Bradley (#9-10) Something what most P4P lists should look like. It is acceptable to move up or down one tier: e.g. Martinez could be #3 or #4 (tier 2) in your list which would be fine. Donaire could be anywhere from 6-10 but higher would be jumping two tiers which would be pretty hard to argue for. Thoughts? What is your updated list?
Yes, I thought of putting him on tier with Martinez, and may still do so. I guess I reward wins over other P4P guys.
Oh sorry, I read that incorrectly. I'm not so sure on that one because then he would be two tiers above Martinez when I think one tier of a difference is fine. I'm happy with JMM at 2-4 (preferably 2-3), I had him at #1 for a while.
I think your tiers 1-5 are pretty good. I like the fact that you had the confidence to rate Rigondeaux high off this one big performance. I also love the fact you didn't drop Pacquiao and Donaire from your list. I am not so sure about your tier 6 though. Also, I think you have a few too many tiers in your top 10. Wouldn't 2-3 tiers be enough? Also think you should tier to 20/25 p4p to back up your bottom top 10 tiers.
Only 2-3 tiers wouldn't work I don't think. If I had something like say Tier 1 Mayweather, JMM, Rigo, Ward Tier 2 Martinez, Pacquaio, Donaire, Wlad Tier 3 Broner, Froch, Mares, Bradley that would mean Wlad could move to #1 (up one tier) for example, which just wouldn't be right. Tier 6 is a tough one because I think any of those guys could fill the last two spots on the top 10 list. And to be honest, I probably don't know enough about the top 25 yet to make an accurate enough list.
Ok. My best advice to you then is not to get a hang-up about the magic number 10. There is no reason why we should concentrate on 10 when we rank fighters across weight-classes. If you concentrate on 10, what you end up doing is only ranking the first couple of fighters with any degree of confidence. Tiers are great. Have as many as you like but don't concentrate on 10. :good
If you believe Pacquiao or Donaire belong in the p4p top 10 than just say you are a *******, I'm not sure how you put losers in front of undefeated boxers, let's say Canelo wins, a win against Trout would be better than Darchinyan in my view, so would you still have Donaire ahead of him? This **** is disgusting, even when they lose it doesn't matter.
