A lot of top prospects nowadays come from countries where you can make a good living as a fully state funded amateur. They don't have the same financial pressure/incentive to turn pro young as American fighters have.
Rigondeaux is not a "prospect" anymore. Gamboa and Rigo are both unified or former unified titlists against at least a couple legit opponents each. Even GGG has faced the level of competition that he is beyond that of a "prospect" for sure. Zou Shiming, now that's a fresh prospect.
