Since I'm new to the forum ill go ahead and say I always knew he had it in him! Haha mad props tho he won me over last night. He also helped me see Nonito for what he really was. Nonito in that weight division has been like a chavez jr but with way better discipline. He dominated due to a freakish size advantage over men who were naturally smaller. He's still a force and I hope he gets new guys in his corner. Garcia dropped the ball on this one. Too many horses in the stable.
i acknowledge that he has skills but he's just boring. i surely won't be staying home to watch him fight again.
Definitely skilled but such a boring fighter. If he fought the way he did in the 12th then I would watch him. Rigo vs Mares or Rigo vs Garcia are the only fights I'm interested in.
I think he has the best upper body movement that I've seen. It's too bad his pro career did not start sooner. Great hands too.
I don't understand how anyone could not be a fan since the first moments of seeing him. Even seeing him in the amateur system....Once I saw how this guy could move I was hooked.
I was already a fan since his fifth fight, I knew he was special. I was supporting Donaire but my mind pointed to a rigondeux victory.
First saw him fight against Casey and thought he looked pretty damn good. I was fan if only because it's nice to see such a well schooled fighter. That **** he was doing against Kennedy, where he would practice the combinations he was going to throw, and then throw them and land? That got me on the bandwagon, but I didn't think that he would so thoroughly dominate Donaire like he did. I would like to see him fight often, his defense is such that he coule probably stay active and healthy if he chooses to.
No. I like what he brings to the table, but I gotta see more fights before I just say "I'm a FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Count me in. Even though I will still root for Mares and Garcia against him. I just watched his fight against Donaire and it was a beautiful boxing clinic. Gave me the same pleasure as watching a James Toney fight.
He's definitely less boring than Donaire, who routinely plods around throwing 30 punches a round and then makes excuses for why his fights weren't exciting.
