You guys are being unfairly hard on Donaire. Nearly every fighter has every excuse in the book when they lose and think it was a lose fight, like Carl Froch, like BHops, like Rjj (remember when he propose fully loss so his dad couldnt get the credit???) Kessler, Pac, Mayweather (when he had a close fight with Castillo, although he was injured), Bradley (in his near loss to that guy), Duran (craps, didnt train etc), James Toney, etc.. every fighter who loses make up some excuses. in the fight game you have to believe you can be beat, and if it happens, it really didnt. Look at Tarver, he thought he didn't lose a fight until dawson 1... Glen, Hopkins, Jones, and Harding, to him, never beat him and there was some circumstance surrounding every loss.

The only problem with Donaire is that if he really feels this is true, then he should get an immediate rematch and show it. But guys act like this is uncommon or somethng.

Snakefist, the ideal way he could have represented himself in that interview would JUST BE HUMBLE. but he couldn't even do that.

It was plain to see that Nonito was decisively defeated, but I can understand how sometimes the fighters themselves aren't able to properly assess their performance directly after the match. Furthermore, in this case, Donaire was up against an opponent who for long stretches would exclusively fight off the back-foot while throwing little to no punches. So I get how he may have thought that it was a close affair.

His trainer's assessment of the fight however was egregious. I can't understand how Garcia could have thought the fight was a close contest.
