How would you rate Colonal Bobs and Timmehs commentating on the international feed this weekend. Or do i really not need to ask. Sticking Bob in with someone knowlegable, i see what they are trying to do, because Bob's strength is definetly his passion, he will make the most boring fight seem like Gatti Ward with his commentating. But weaknesses, even though he's been commentating for years, he didn't seem to know what to say. He spent the whole fight either talking about his scorecard, or talking about how the fight was that hard to score he's not going to talk about his scorecard. Timmeh was no help and barely said a word. SO much so that Bob had to say half way through the fight after not a peep from timmeh in a couple of mins. "You gonna help me out here Tim?" Bob scored the fight for DOnaire but admitted he found it hard. He seems a nice guy and i do love his passion. But he was very off his game this weekend. And Timmeh definetly don't belong in commentating. Ya Now.
he does blow by blow on a lot of the espn classic fights, he's ****ing awful! lampley really is a pro at what he does he's just a biased ******* so it overshadows his talent for announcing.
He sucks! His commentary on the fight was pissing me off. How the **** could you have Donaire winning on a complete shutout by RiGod?!
He didn't seem able to observe the actual punches that landed. Doesn't seem to understand the concept of ring generalship.
he's very bad. His strength is he's an excitable guy, so i've watched some boring fights, and he's made them sound more entertaining. Im a Brit and i really like HBO commentary. Maybe just cos i associate it with a big event. We're stuck with the Colonal or Sky Sports who are the opposite, and whilst knoledgable are a bunch of moaning idiots. If they'd have commentated on Gatti Ward 1, theyd have found something to complain about
I'm not a fan of the Colonel. I'd rather watch a fight on mute or with music in the background if he's the only choice I have.
Exciting Commentator, I can't believe he commentated on Ali-Foreman all those years ago. Problem is he sometimes he gives up his ability to see a fight from a neutral perspective in order to be entertaining.
His scoring was in disagreement with mine but tbh that's not really an issue, it's a subjective thing and he obviously saw things differently to me. Even worse was Bradley and his terrible job at being a colour commentator, he had such a plain personality and he was so easily influenced by bob. Terrible job by Tim. the colonel has passion and talks with conviction, ain't a big deal if he scores a fight differently to me.
I didn't realise Bradley was with him until the end of the fight, Bradley was quiet as hell. Sheridan was blatantly cheering for Donaire, he couldn't hide his joy at the knockdown. He gave Donaire rounds just for walking forward, he said it himself.
