Please don't tell me this is for real!!! I if so, I see a barrage of criticism heading in the direction of the haye camp! atsch
Wawrzyk is likely not fighting Haye. The Polish media has been quoting Andrzej as saying he prefers to fight Povetkin, and he's in training for that fight althought it's not yet signed. http://www.ringpolska.pl/andrzej-wawrzyk/25845-nie-ma-tematu-walki-wawrzyka-z-hayem
He's VERY chinny, he been down in several fights against soft opponents. He was knocked down by a 1-14 fighter with a 0% KO ratio, and by a cruiserweight with 14 losses and a 20% KO ratio.
This is a good stay busy fight for Haye till he can get a Klit on the ring or fight an Eliminator. This guy is big, young, undefeated and hungry, and has won several WBA and WBC minor heavyweight titles. I don't understand why some would be against this fight. If everyone else in the division is going to fight unheralded fighters than why can't Haye? It will be good to see him take another undefeated fighters 0 while getting work against against this young lion. :bbb
1- Wawrzyk isn't a top 20 HW 2- there's a few other guys not in the top 20 that I'd rather see fight Haye
:good Although.......I don't know if he can be referred to as a lion. More like a lamb being led to slaughter.:yep:yep But seriously.... This is a decent comeback fight for Haye considering he's had 1 fight in 2 yrs and it lasted all of 5 rds. Also, this is a decent move for the division since Warwyk is undefeated and might continue to crush cans and beat fringe contenders, journeymen, and then magically get a genuine title shot. Happy it's an inactive contender taking him out instead of a Champion being mandated to fight him.:deal
To get an idea of how awful Wawrykz is: Imagine Charr, then take away the punch (Wawrykz is feather-fisted, going the distance with unranked fighters multiple times), then add a shaky chin (Wawrykz was wobbled and even knocked down by journeymen multiple times). Then you get Wawrykz.
thats the problem when everyone buys the fight tickets before an opponent is announced. What are they doing that? It always sets alarm bells ringing. And if the fight sells out it encourages a soft touch. Although i was proven wrong when Hatton did it then took on a tough fight.
When David announced his return, we were led to believe that it would be a top ten contender, so must admit that if this is the case, will be very disappointed. Otherwise, wouldnt have an issue with this as a stay busy fight. Still think he will have no issues with the Poverkin's/Pulevs or Adameks. All should be a walk in the park with the exception of Pulev, which I would still expect David to pull through even with the inactivity.
Charr has mentioned multiple times Haye can't pay a lot of money and no top contender was willing to fight Haye for the little money Haye was putting on the table.
