Rocky Marciano vs Sam McVea

Most people who fought Marciano got stretched, yes. But most of the good ones gave him a pretty bad battering before they called it a day. I imagine a big, strong, hard-hitting and VERY good fighter like Sam McVea could turn the same trick.

This is a Pyrrhic victory for Rocky , imo.

That actually disagreed with my post. I think the longer it goes the worse for McVey because the more shots he'll have to take.

Maybe you rate McVey higher than me, I dunno but I think it's gonna be very tough to survive against Rocky cos he ain't gonna tire no matter how many rounds it is.

 

You're right on style. McVey was cautious, didn't like to mix it much, and was predictable in attack. IMO, he's one of those types who looks much tougher than he really was.

I would pick Rocky to win in this match up.

 

I'm not sure I can buy into the idea of someone who knocked out so many people being a counterpuncher.

The first line was sarcastic hence the :? Rocky is certainly one of those fighters the longer it goes the more likely he'll prevail.

 

McVey did alright against Langford in Australia, and had him on the floor.
