Should Donaire have gone balls out on Rigo right after he knocked his ass down?

    Donaire is the 1st man to knock Rigondeaux on his ass in Rigo's entire career, both pro and amateur

    Yes, we saw Rigo getting dropped for half a second by a jab from Cordoba and wobbled by Marroquin, but this is apparently the first time Rigo is knocked on his ass violently.

    I imagine that the mental shock of being KD like that for the first time + the damage taken from the punch could have given Donaire the edge he needed to finally land a couple bombs on Rigo and KO him for good.

    It surely was the best opportunity he had in the entire fight to turn things around and win, but he showed too much respect for Rigo's power and left him off the hook too easily, Rigo showed great recuperative powers and by the end of the round the opportunity was already gone.

    After the KD, should Donaire have gone ape**** on Rigo and throw the whole kitchen sink at him without a care in the world hoping to KO him?

    Could he have shattered that fragile mandible for good that way or do you think Rigo would have found a way to escape anyway?

    Rigo was not hurt at all from that flash KD.

    Had Nonito tried and go ape **** he would most likely have gotten KD as well, maybe even stopped.

    Rigo was so fast that Nonito really couldn't add to the knockdown. Rigo is going to be hard to beat.

    That wasn't a flash KD dumbass, the KD he got against Cordoba was. Learn what a flash KD is

    Rigo was knocked on his ass violently and he was hurt, even if not badly, Rigo himself admitted it

    He actually did try but Rigo was too slick and his power worried Donaire so he eventually let his foot of the pedal.

    and either way, Rigo wasn't as hurt as your stupid ass is trying to make out. A matter of fact, i wish Nonito would have gone ape****, then he would be put on his ass.

    I watched a highlight replay last night and in the corner Garcia was urging him to aim for his chest and throw more than one shot when closing him down. I reckon Donaire should have stepped on the gas after the first four rounds when it became apparent that he wasn’t going to win the fight trying to counter from mid-range. That’s where Rigo seems to be at his best – being given the room to counter. Donaire needed to go out of his comfort zone and make things more scrappy to not allow Rigo to operate so cleanly. And the very moment he did that – throwing punches in bunches at close range – Rigo couldn’t spot his left hook and got nailed.

    Then of course the is the fact that the more he opened up, the more Rigo was able to hit him back. It’s a double edge sword, which is why I feel Rigo will always beat him 10/10 providing he keeps his chin safe. Dude just has Donaire’s number. He’s his kryptonite.

    Had Donaire opened up Rigo would have prob stopped him. (IMO)
    Nonito felt Guillermo's power from RD 1 & had nothing but respect for Rigo.

    He was stunned no doubt about it.

    donaire was lookin for one shot. cant do that **** against someon like rigo. couldnt dare even try o jab with him cause hed get beat to the punch quicker by rigos jab, nonito was ****ed from the gate. different talent level

    He should have, but it just shows how in control Rigo was, it was a clear sign of how much his ring generalship had played in the bout up until that point. Rigo planted the seed early, let it grow, up until the point that even a knockdown couldn't faze him.
