The old man was just too defensively good for him .

Joe just could not land . Last time i check you need to land punches on your opponent (Not the air) to win a fight .

    Pure Robbery .

    Calzaghe.

Don't see the argument as to how it was even close to being a "robbery"

Kind of feel sorry for Bernard because beating Calzaghe would have without a doubt been the greatest victory of his entire career, yet after having every advantage in the book over Joe didn't have enough in his locker to win the fight. Hopkins always seems to come up short against the elite fighters at a fair weight which is something he will always be remembered for when historians look back at his career.

I had the fight even in terms of rounds but the knock down gave Hopkins the fight on my card.

Hopkins does appear to have a style weakness to fast two handed fighters his own size.
Still credit to him for wins over Pascal and Cloud, but Calzaghe is levels above them, which is why Hopkins was struggling so badly with Calzaghe and was made to look so bad.
Remember that people in Hopkins own team were calling for Hopkins to retire after Calzaghe beat him. Which seems forgotten because of how good Hopkins looked when fighting fighters at a lower level to Calzaghe.
Calzaghe looked a clear winner to me

How on earth can anyone claim Calzaghe won that fight ? Slappy didn't land 25 LEGITIMATE scoring punches all fight long. Hopkins won but Calzaghe got the decision

Calzaghe completely outworked him, and tapped that ass.

Outworked him yes.. The better punches were landed by B.Hop.. In no way was it a performance to brag about by either though. Ugly fight, but to me it showed Bernard to be a far superior more techniqued boxer.. And had he just been a few years younger, and could fight at just a little higher pace, he would have won clearly. He arguably did win anyway.
