Nathan 'Hopkins' Cleverly's "granite" chin

Well he is certainly more active than Shumenov that's for sure. Can't believe he has such a free ride to hold on to that belt.

People bang on about B-Hop having a granite chin, so guess point is he don't then?

End of the day, anyone can be caught.

Marquez, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Sugar Shane etc have all been put on there are arse, but all over them have solid beards.

Clev has only been "wobbled" at this stage, everything else shows that he does seem to be able shake off solid shots.

 

Having just watched it again, the punch that wobbled Cleverly in the Kuziemski fight was exaggerated by him standing square on when it landed. A good shot, but I don't think Cleverly was that affected by it. He looked more hurt when he was rocked by Joey Vegas, TBH.

Cleverly has displayed a very good chin in his career so far; his style necessitates it

 

It was round 3.

He took a solid left hand off an orthodox fighter with a reasonably low KO % who had been knocked around for a couple of rounds, he looked really hurt at the time and didn't throw much back whilst he recovered. That fight told you quite a bit. He was teeing off on the guy who could take what he was throwing and keep coming forward, but the guy staggered him with his first decent punch. This may indicate perhaps a lot of speed, not big power and perhaps not such a good chin.

Robin Krasniqi is a good boxer, young, has good punches and looks durable. His last 4 opponents in 2012 have been dispatched inside the scheduled distance.

Cleverly is in for a hard fight Saturday night IMO.

I think it will be a bit of a war, back and forth.
