[FONT="]Not who was the best fighter that utilized the bob & weave, but who had the best. When people thing bob & weave they most likely think of Dempsey, Frazier and Tyson. Are there any other fighters who utilized this maneuver to the extent of these three? Out of the great bob & weavers who had the best and why? [/FONT]
I think that Dempsey probably polished it off to the finest artform of the various bob and weave heavyweights although Tyson and Frazier rater respect. I think Dempsey came as close as anybody to combining the activity of Frazier and the finesse of Tyson. Other fighters to mention are Jim Jeffries and Floyd Patterson.
I like the names mentioned. Marciano showed a decent bob/weave earlier in his career like vs louis. I think the best are Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey
Jeffries crouched I dont think he bobbed and weaved ,and Floyd ,while a bit more mobile wasnt that great defensively ,he relied on his gloves to block a lot of shots,thats the essence of the peek a boo style.Dempsey is the clear master here for me.
Jack Dempsey was, to me, the ultimate bob and weaver. He's the first guy I think of when the phrase "bob and weave" is used.
