Yeah, it's terrible. GBP didn't want this fight for Canelo and so they decided to stack the deck. Trout better do everything he can to bust Saul up because he ain't winning no decision.
Well, initially he was listed as a judge. This might be better for Trout. Both of the judges listed are from overseas, rather than Texas. Stanley Christodoulou (South Africa) and Rey Danseco (Philippines). No third judge listed yet, but one local yokel max.
I don't know if this is germane to the discussion but I've heard Laurence Cole and Jose Sulaiman suck each others' cocks. And they do these things while listening to Morrissey.
What notable fights has Laurence Cole ****ed up with? just a quick refresher so i can remember who this **** is. Nothing pisses me off more than a **** ref.
lawrence cole was the referee for the pacquiao-barrera 1 fight promoted by gbp also held at the alamodome, san antonio, texas. barrera was the gbp boy and ref cole tried to ****ed up pacquiao early by ruling a slip a knockdown. pacquiao just do his job and eventually stopped barrera. trout will also stop gbp boy, nelo. and ref cole will become a fan of trout.
Any fight that has been in Texas for some time. I don't recall them off the top of my head, but Laurence's father, Dickie Cole, runs the Texas commission, so, however bad Laurence is, it doesn't matter, because his father runs ****. It's not good, put it that way.
Cole also has a day job. Selling insurance to boxing promoters. Lolboxing. http://www.boxingcoverage.com/
Besides Pacquiao vs Barrera I, Cole has done some notably poor work in other fights like Abraham vs Dirrell. But he is most famous for JMM vs Jimrex Jaca. JMM sustained a bad cut from an accidental headbutt and they were considering stopping the fight due to the cut. While they were looking the cut over in the corner, Cole stepped over and told Marquez he was ahead on the scorecards so if he wanted to stop fighting due to the cut he would win. It was blatant corruption and favoritism and it was actually caught on the video/audio of the fight. Fortunately for Cole and boxing in general, Marquez elected to continue and won cleanly by stopping Jaca later on, so it was somewhat swept under the rug.
