Another shitty card of boxing on Sky tonight, while boxnation and even Channel 5 trump them once again. Ringside I watched last week, seems to have gone to the dogs. All they done for an hour was cream themselves over Froch Kessler which the pricks have decided to put on PPV box office. They better hope it goes better than their previous box office failures Khan Haye and Fraudley Harrison...:rofl I wont be paying anyway! They failed to even mention Donaire Rigondeux or anything else for an hour, bar talking about Steve Collins nd Eubank, while failing to mention Collins coming out of retirement that week! I just hate the way they ignore boxing apart from their own little tiny world and they do nothing to draw casual fans in with the mugs they hype up and shitty cards they constantly show. Now Brook Alexander is off, they have Purdy in for that another mismatch they will hype up. At least they will have Peterson Mathyesse, so thats something but really their coverage has diminished so much its embarrassing. They ignore boxing on their own news channel.
They have been unlucky with brooks injury The coverage will improve as the stable has improved Wait till burns, groves, froch, frampton, brook, barker etc start in good fights Agree with ringside though,i still watch though
Whats your thoughts on ESPN's Boxing Coverage? Did you enjoy the weigh in, press confrences, build up shows for tonights boxing on BoxNation this week?
Yeah this is a Sky Sports trait and it's not exclusive to Boxing. If it doesn't happen on their channel, it doesn't exist. It used to be the way with Formula One and the Masters for example before they came onto Sky and have now become massively hyped. It's not a surprise but considering Sky have so little boxing coverage of their own, you'd think they'd want and need to cover stuff outside of their own stuff to make Ringside work well
i call it as i see it, im no boxnation fanboy but i realise quality programming. i wish sky boxing wasnt so **** these days because i dont have boxnation and wont be buying Frock Kessler on box office so have to stream everything.
Its nothing to do with Hearn, at the end of the day Sky Sports are crippling the sport refusing to deal with anyone but Hearn. Its great for Matchroom but not for boxing. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...Matchroom-Sky-Sports-television-monopoly.html I just want to see QUALITY programming and fighters being given their fair shout. Ringside is a pisstake these days.
Sky have had their fingers massively burnt by boxing so does their current attitude really surprise you?
Spot on mate I really couldnt believe Ringside the other week. It was like a promo for Sky Sports Box office not a boxing programme, when world class fights like Rigo-Donaire, Alvarado - Rios didnt get a mention. Utter bull****, should be ashamed of themselves!
Mugsy, you realise BoxNation HAVE to have a higher quality of fights on a far more regular basis? You pay money specifically to watch boxing, if they were struggling to get decent fights on you'd stop paying. Sky have more than boxing to worry about.
It doesnt surprise, nothing does with SlySports but since they are my output for televised boxing as a fan and subscriber I'm very annoyed by the way they carry on. And then they dedicate a full channel and constant coverage to ****ing Formula One, I dont know one formula one fan even people mad into cars dont ****in like it :fire
