I'm having to juggle commitments to go to the Thaxton fight.

Its far from ideal as I'd like to get there earlier than circumstances permit - especially as its unreserved seating so first come first served! :good

I'll be cheering Thaxton too. Hope York Hall also gives Romanov a decent reception - I will applaud both.

Got loads on this weekend so won't be able to watch the Khan fight Saturday - sure I'll survive though.

Technically is Martin Kristjansen quite good, but he has no power. But Frank Warren doesn't want Amir Khan to fight against someone, who have a punch. Maybe because of the rumors about Khan's bad chin.

I have seen every 23 fights in Kristjansen's career, and he is not a world level fighter. He might land a Euro title, but nothing more than that.

I his last fight, when he only got a SD against a journeyman, he fought much lower than his level. But no doubt that he won the fight. He was in big troubles in the rematch against Zoff, and he was floored twice.

Kristjansen has been in many very hard fights, and he has a great will. Without that, he would have lost to Zoff, Jorgensen and Devaytaykin.

I hope Kristjansen gets a fine purse for this fight. It might be his last fight.
Khan will stop in the middle rounds.

Do you remember Ricky Hatton vs. Dennis Holbaek Pedersen? I think the Khan/Kristjansen-fight will be like that.

Read an article today which says Khan has been warned by his trainer Oliver Harrison that his celebrity lifestyle could result in his first pro defeat.

Apparently Harrison thinks he needs more time in the gym with Khan to work on his technique.

Been suggested that Khan didn't stick to their gameplan for the St Clair fight as they had worked on stuff in training which he failed to put into practice.

    Interesting ....

Oliver Harrison will end up being sacked.

Khan seems like the sort to me to employ a high profile trainer eventually.

Don't think he could go wrong with Emmanuel Steward, but I'm not sure whether Khan would accept the style he'll want him to have.....but I think it would work for Khan.

Almost - but not quite. Even an average Saturday night out would be more entertaining.... :good

Made him very hard to beat?

Khan is chinny, he'd have a more successful career if he hid behind his speed and a great jab rather than getting excited and fighting people.

I don't think Lewis and Wlad (although heavyweights) are bad people to aim to be like for Khan. It's not as if Khan needs to be exciting to get a fan base/make money, he's already set there.

Claypole - I'm going to the Thaxton fight tonight with two of my brothers and meeting up with some friends there (eight of us in total now) so should be a good laugh. Let me know if you would like to join us at some point to say a quick hi. :good

Well Dennis Pedersen was a human punchbag!

I like the tomato khans jibe, should have thought of that one myself!

I will reserve judgement on Khan until he fights someone that can hit him back - it is a disgrace that a guy could fight for a world title in that situation. Most fighters who get there have been tested several times, all the current British world champs were, and rightly so - Amir shouldn't receive different treatment.
