Canelo vs. Cotto possibly next in Brooklyn?

Cotto has a real chance if he can return to form. Canelo is quicker and sharper at this stage, and heavier handed, but he can be pressed. Where Trout was ineffective with his pressure tactics, Cotto could succeed, coming in behind his jab and smothering him. The size is a problem so maybe Cotto shouldn't linger in the clinch.

He needs a safe but no too easy tune-up IMO to see where he's at.

 

Predictable and likely next opponent. Low risk, high reward fight for Team Canelo. Canelo would be a massive favorite and likely win by stoppage but the Cotto name appeal will still draw big dollars.

 

i think that canelo will fight vs the winner of lara vs angulo, and theres is gone to be as co-main event on 14 sept card

 

Cotto gets stopped at this stage. He could put on a good performance, but against a combination puncher like Canelo he is bound to get hurt.

 

Cotto is still a highly ranked JMW.
