Do you think Bendo will ever finish another fight before his career ends?

I couldn't care less about his finishing rate or if he finishes another opponent in his entire fighting career. Nobody has finished Frankie, only one person had ever finished Nate at the time of that fight and nobody has finished Gilbert.

Benson is an exciting fighter and a great champion regardless of his finishing rate (or how I thought Frankie beat him both times).

^This. There are people on other forums already shitting on Cormier and saying that he's too boring to be on a main card based on his fight with Mir. The same people were talking about how badass he was and calling him "black Fedor" literally 24 hours ago.

Re Henderson. Look at who he's been fighting. Melendez has never been finished. Edgar wouldn't go down when Maynard bludgeoned him for five straight minutes in two different fights, and even Aldo didn't finish him. Diaz just got stopped by strikes for the first time, but he had an extremely hard cut and showed up to the weigh ins looking like a walking skeleton. He also mentioned that this would be his last fight at 155 a couple of weeks ago because he was having such a hard time maintaining weight.

He's two weight classes smaller than Maynard too. That didn't stop Edgar from slamming Maynard two rounds after he almost got KO'd 5 times.

Edgar is beast. Trying to slight anybody at LW who's had a tough time with him is ridiculous.

Now I'm slighting him? WTF? He is not a great wrestler like every one says he is. Pettis out wrestled too.

Ben isnt great at one thing. Anyone that says different cant evaluate talent. He wins because he is a way better athlete. It's there for everyone to see.

Hard to say he even wins with a 1-2 record in his last three.

but he hasnt got a 1-2 record in his last three has he. thats your opinion, which your imposing on this thread as if its fact. it isnt. the Gil fight was extremely close, as all have acknowledged. but it should be! its top class MMA, champion vs champion. Gil didnt hurt Benson at any time in the fight, does that make him a **** fighter?! average??

Bendo and GSP have become the typical type of champs they do what they need to retain the belt not looking to impress and win a shot

Jon Jones seems to have also become more cautious compared to before he won the belt with the care free i want to kill you attitude.

Its called strategy mate, MMA has long since move on from steroids and soccer stomps! what ever the **** they were called. Im not saying I prefer or condone what GSP, Henderson, Cruz to an extent, Jones to an extent and the likes are doing but its mightily impressive all the same!

Benson has finished Donald Cerrone, so he is capable of finishing top guys. I just think he's been matched with guys who are extremely good and/or extremely hard to finish since coming to the UFC. If he ever gets a gimme defence, he could easily slap on a guillotine and win. The problem with that is that 155 is so deep and good that it's hard to envisage a Patrick Cote/Dan Hardy calibre fighter getting a shot these days. Maybe a limited but flashy fighter like Edson Barboza will knock someone out on a main card using a flykick off the cage, and get a shot on the back of the publicity, and then Bendo can work something that way. But he's never going to develop into a consummate finisher like Anderson or even Penn I don't think.
