Hughie's a natural boxer Joshua isn't but he's a athlete and a good one at that. Tough to say but Fury knows his way around the ring for someone so young.
Just watched Hughie Furys debut. I was impressed all things being equal. The kid was fluid, was confident, had a nice jab, and seems to have a bit of power. Obviously there are 1 or 2 flaws he can work on, but for an 18 year old kid on his debut it was impressive. Doesn't look very ripped either, id like to see him in better physical shape in the coming years. Maybe its just a Fury genetic thing though..
hughie tbh joshua is overrated and wouldnt of won that gold if it wasnt in london. imo he lost 2 fights at the olympics
:deal he lost his first fight to the Cuban! nobody would be hailing him as the next big thing if the judges at the Olympics where half way competent.
i haven't formed an opinion on fury, but i respect all your opinions...so sounds like he is good (i did see the fight on telly sat night...just didnt see enough of him to judge) joshua i do expect to do very well...definetly a top prospect.
Genuinely impressed by Hughie, he seems way more composed and mature than an 18 year old should be. It's always hard to extrapolate from a couple of fights, and history is full of totally wrong predictions, so I say it lightly when I do, but he appears to have a lot more composure and maturity than some of our other prospects of the past (e.g. Khan). He says his best punch is his jab (a good sign when a fighter recognizes this and doesn't say something like a leaping right uppercut), and his schedule looks like it is going to be very busy - he's definitely one to watch.
Hughie looked superb but it's impossible to judge when he's fighting journeymen & Joshua's fighting the best amateur's in the world
Hard to say at this point. Two things that stick in my mind are; - Fury is only 18 years old and from the looks of it, the pro game is going to suit him fine. Heavyweights generally so to speak, peak later on in age than most others do in other weight divisions so he has bags of time on his side to develop. His cousin is on the fringes of a world title shot - not much better regular sparring you can ask for than that. Seem's very fluid in his movement, nice jab and good pop in his right hand. - Joshua comes across as a natural athlete. For someone to make the olympic squad never mind come away from it with a gold medal whilst only boxing for a short number of years shows what a prospect he is. I still think he should stay amateur for a little while longer.. perhaps after the world championships or the commonwealth games then he could turn pro - so much expectation would be on him should he decide to turn over right now, of which I'm not so sure he's ready.. what's he had, only 40/50 amateur fights?
Agreed. It was all mapped out for the kid. Trust me he will get exposed in the pros. Robotic fighter.
