i hate to do this but.... Margo vs Canelo

The only question here is whether Canelo would stop Marg or just UD him.

(Unwrapped) Marg doesn't have enough in eithe hand to get Canelo's attention.

I don't think I agree with any part of that statement.

Canelo would have to stop Margarito before the championship rounds. Which maybe he could do, but I kind of doubt it. Until Mosley cracked his chin, and I do think that probably had something to do with weight issues, he was very very hard to hurt. If Canelo were to gas in the 9th or so and Margo's still there, it's gonna turn into a horrible nightmare for cinnamon because there will be zero opportunities to rest. Margarito was BEST at 147 but he was still effective at 154 and he could certainly fight there for the right money during his best days.

 

Exactly. Canelo would not fight like he did against Trout when facing Tony. He would be the heavy handed combination puncher we've seen in the past and would obliterate Tony. Canelo not only bigger, but stronger and much faster than Margarito. This would be a cake walk for him.

 

Without the loaded gloves Margarito would get the Mosley treatment.

 

Margarito had tremendous conditioning & could go at the same pace all night long.
(Something no opponent currently around could emulate, just saying..)

 

That stamana with Margos relentless pressure would be a nightmare for Canelo

 

Canelo is bigger, stronger, and (as far as we know) fighting with legitimate wraps.

The evidence proves Margo wasn't much without loaded gloves. 1-3 with the 1 against a cab driver.

Glad to see multiple people acknowledge that Margarito has absolutely no proven record of success above 147. Beyond this, after the plaster suspension (which thanks to the tireless and rigorous work of the objective Margarito fans on this forum, we can definitively and irrefutably believe he was framed for and had to serve for no reason whatsoever), his punches were laughed at by the sole natural 154-lber he faced.

This is only slightly less ridiculous than people believing he'd give the even larger Chavez Jr. hell when Arum was trying to make that farcical match-up.
