Calzaghe by a lot. Kostya was always very beatable.

How is a guy who is only beaten once before the age of 35 considered "very beatable"?

I probably consider Calzaghe better but I prefer watching Tszyu.

Oktay Urkal gave him lots of trouble. Great performance against Judah, but Zab was doing well as long that lasted. Mitchell also had some success.

Calzaghe for me was much harder to beat. Tyszu while a very good package wasn't that quick and relatively easy to hit, great puncher but not that great. I think the best guys who he shared a division with like Mayweather, Delahoya, Mosley (ok not quite) would have beaten him pretty conclusively.

Calzaghe, I am of the minority who feels Tszyu although a beast, is overrated.

I think they are roughly equal.

It's true that Calzaghe was never beaten the way Tszyu was against Phillips, but he got run awfully close by Robin Reid and if Joe actually fought the level of comp Tszyu did consistently, it's not inconceivable that he might have suffered a defeat like that too.

It's true that Calzaghe was a little bit 'harder to beat', in that he didn't have some quite so obvious weaknesses as Tszyu did, but on the flip side, Tszyu had some great strengths which might have seen him get some wins Calzaghe would never get.

For example, I could see Tszyu potentially beating a prime Roy Jones level fighter if he lands the right punch, but Joe would never beat an opponent like that.

Of course, Joe would likely outhustle good workrate/good chin/hard punching fighters like Phillips whilst Tszyu would probably always have trouble with them.

What evidence is there that Tsyzu fought better opposition? The exact opposite is true by a good margin, imo.

I think Calzaghe fought competition on par with Tyszu if not better. Belt holders like Mitchell, Reid, Brewer, Woodhall all tend to get written off, when they are pretty legit significant wins.

He never would have lost to a Vince Phillips type, although I do think Phillips was great for a night in that one. Calzage missed allot of names in his own division but I don't think many could have beaten him. Maybe if he fought a Prime versions of Jones or Hopkins he would have been shown up. But I think he would have taken Pavlik, Ottke and Darius to the cleaners at any time though.

Brewer though was quite past it when he fought Joe.

I always liked the Hatchet. He threw nice punches, good offensive boxer-puncher but his chin was Norris levels of bad.

Kessler is better than any of Tszyu's wins IMO, stiff and upright though he was.
