Why do people say Canelo landed the heavier blows when it was 95 to 96 in power shots

    Trout has no power. His power shots didn't seem to phase Canelo at all. Canelo looked like he stepped out of a sauna on vacation after the fight. When Canelo landed power shots clean, Trout was clearly hurt from many of them. It shouldn't matter who landed more power shots if the guy who landed less clearly hurt the guy repeatedly who ended up landing more. That's how rounds are scored by seeing who did more damage with quality, not quantity.

    Because "power punches" is anything but a jab.

    "Heavy punches" are up to the beholder.

    Unless you've got measurements of the effectiveness of those 96 power shots from Trout, it doesn't really disprove Canelo landing 'heavier' blows. It's about quality, not quantity. One power shot that lands flush and his visibly effective, will always be far superior than two feather-dusting shots that just about land.
