Bradley Offered $6 MILLION for pacquiao Rematch

GTFO. THis fight easily does 500k PPV. plenty of money to cover the 3 mill each(if that were the case).

 

500k??? Chavez Jr and Martinez did 475k and Chavez Jr has a big following! Bradley is not that popular. Marquez Diaz II did 250k...this fight does about 300k - 350k tops.

Do not underestimate how popular Pacquiao and Mayweather are, no other fighter comes close. People will not spend $70 on a fight which don't get me wrong, it's fascinating but it will be more of a game of chess than anything explosive

 

I would like to see Pacquiao against Kell Brook or Adrien Broner. Pac-Marquez V will be a big seller even if happens December of NEXT year.

Pacquiao could make a lot of money fighting a contender at 147 and it would save his reputation moreso than an immediate rematch.

 

Good, who wants to see JMM vs Bradley anyway?

Its a good comeback fight for PAC.

Low risk good entertaining fight.

It will also be a perfect judging stick on how much that KO took out of him based on his performance.

 

Part of me 100% agrees with you...

...but the other part sees that Pac/Bradley did 700k and Pac going into that fight was a much, much bigger draw to American PPV audiences than JMM is now.

I saw the above poster says JMM/Diaz II did 250k. That is okay, but it had several things going for it such as that it was between two Mexicans, had the rematch angle working, had Alvarez on the undercard, and was in a totally dead time of year for boxing if I remember correctly.

Does anyone know the JMM/Fedchenko PPV numbers?

 

Unfortunately in boxing nothing below 140 sells. JMM/Diaz at 135 did as much as Pac/DIaz at 135.

The dynamics have changed for JMM. He is fighting @ 147 where there's more opportunities to fight bigger names. (although there are not as many big names as when Floyd and Pac made their fame).
HIs name recognition is at an all-time high mainly by having KO'd Pac but
also but being in 3 1mil+ ppv fights at welter. Timmy still brings that undefeated record which always means something. I'd be willing to bet anyone this fight does min. 500K buys.

 

That's my point regarding Marquez Diaz II, Mexican and their first fight was Fight of The Year - that's why I mention it as the pinnacle of what Marquez has achieved on PPV, that fight is more attractive than Bradley. And as you say, Pacquiao did 700k against Bradley, sure, Bradley is a bit better known now but only to hardcore boxing fans so his appeal hasn't shot up that much, not to carry a PPV event by himself anyway

 

We'll have to agree to disagree, I stick to 300k-350k...however here's another point. The purse is dependent on PPV for Marquez v Bradley for both fighters. Fighting Pacquiao is a $14m GUARANTEE for Marquez, a $6m GUARANTEE for Bradley - therein lies another difference. $3m is IF the PPV does well, and it may not do as well as you think

Pacquiao needed that partner when he was mowing down hasbeens in the welter division. Much more now that he's on a losing streak and been KTFO!
No more Mayweather fight looming, Pacquiao wont sell over 1 million fighting against anyone unless its Mayweather or Marquez!

 

I tend to think a JMM/Bradley PPV would do between 400-500k.

 

Mayweather has always needed a strong partner or Canelo on the undercard also to do well since DLH. Stands to reason...

Mayweather's PPV appeal will actually be put to the test properly in this fight, probably for the first time since DLH - he has doesn't have a big name opponent and he doesn't have a big name on the undercard...let's see how that does.

But your post doesn't highlight much in the grand scheme of things, Mayweather is the biggest PPV attraction, Pacquiao is 2nd and everyone else a distant 3rd - you're nitpicking on stuff which makes no difference to the bottom line
