Not anymore. The mere fact that The Ring changed their policies willy nilly for how their belts may be awarded doesn't mean everyone should equivalently adjust the procedure through which a lineal champion should be recognized.
But the timeline for when number 1 leaves a division has been ridiculously sped up in order to facilitate the awarding of more Ring belts. The same applies to Huck/Cunningham/Hernandez and Bradley/Garcia/Khan.
Who has the lineage at 154? Did someone have it already? Like Dawson has the RING 175 but Grachev has the lineage for beating Erdei Like Was Sergey Dzinziruik the lineal champ of 154? He was a top 154 lber for a long time? Or when Wright moved up after beating Mosley who beat Oscar did someone else pick up the lineage right then and there? my history of the weight class is not very good
I don't know of any rankings aside from The Ring's which require less than 12 to drop a guy. Certainly not any other would-be lineal rankings.
And how's Mayweather gonna fight at LMW before the the 365days run out, if he's set to face Guerrero at welterweight on day 364? Do I really have to pick up my racket and beat a Youzhny kind of sense in you?
