The reason why they say boxing is a subjective sport is because there is no way to tell for certain if anything is true. Do you count grazing the cheek as a full punch point? What about a hold and punch? If one guy buckles while another guy stands still even though they exchanged equal punches to each other is that a draw in your mind? What about a punch landed on the chin versus the cheek? What about when there are no good angles to see if somebody was really hit at all? I've seen video where I can't be certain if a punch lands or does any work whatsoever.

Not that you'd care but I thought Bradley-Pac was a little fishy myself. I'm not saying I think Bradley won the fight, but I think it was closer than a lot of people made it out to be. In any case, reducing this fight to other fights is boring and proves that you're probably just biased in some weird way.

Canelo slipped punches because he didn't have range like Trout. Any and every time Trout got close to imposing his will on Canelo he was hit with a straight, uppercut, or body shot that stopped Trout and redirected the fight. Canelo was firmly in control of his own destiny the entire fight, he was imposing his will on Trout despite being shorter and smaller by performing smart, lethal attacks penetrating a bicycle fighter.

Boxing is about the imposition of will. Canelo did what he wanted too, the fact that Trout was sporting in his effort means nothing for the win/loss column.

Also, I should point out that Trout seems like a likable, hard-working, and talented guy. I did call him out on not being strong in the Cotto fight, unable to impose his will in what should've been closer or a draw, but I"ll take the glorious work done by Alvarez to make my point.
