Cotto stops him late after getting up off the canvas once or twice.

One of the rare cases where the pressure fighter fades and get stopped late.

Cotto outpowers him and outboxes him.

Tough to pick imo. It is tough to see where they're standing in their careers at the moment. Both has suffered two pretty bad loses in a row.
I think I'll go with Cotto, the more proven man, and he wasn't stopped in his last two defeats.

The Ortiz that beat Berto beats Cotto.
The Ortiz that lost to Josesito gets beat by Cotto.

Of course.... Cotto starts off being the huge favorite.

Hes Miguel Cotto.... Ortiz is.... Ortiz

But when I really think about this fight, truth is its not as cut and dry as that.

Once inside the ring, this fight would go from people thinking it a joke matchup that Cotto handles with ease, to the harsh reality that Ortiz would give Cotto all he wanted and then some.

And to think, that in the last few years, Cotto is going to be rising from a couple knockdowns to come back and win a fight isn't dealing with reality, imo.

Were not talking about a prime Cotto, but todays Cotto. Its muuuuch more likely that should Ortiz (and its very possible he would) puts Cotto down once or twice, and Cotto feels Ortiz's strength and power, that he would get on his bike and start backpeddling.

However, Cottos ability, experience, and skills, should be the determining factor in this fight..... but Id def not be confident about any result in this matchup. This would not only be a wildly fun fight, but one where truly anything is possible (moreso then usual in this theatre of the unexpected)

    just imo

That being said, Im going with the Ortiz from the Berto/Mayweather fights.

I do feel that todays Ortiz is going to be a spent force.... hes taken a lot of punishment in his short career and I expect to see a visable decline (and feel I saw it during the Lopez fight) so Ortiz starting to lose to guys he would have beaten a few years ago wont surprise me. So im taking this fight in the context of the Ortiz from Berto/Mayweather, and the Cotto from Margarito 2/Mayweather.

If the fight was signed and they were to fight in a few months, Id feel safer at picking Cotto because just not sure how Ortiz would look coming back from the loss, surgeries, and long layoff.

But 'vintage' Ortiz and recent Cotto.... its a wild affair where anything could happen.
