Why doesnt rigondeaux make eye contact?

Staredowns don't mean sh**,oscar always looked up in the air,i guess that meant he was afraid of everybody.

 

He thinks he's too "cool" to not look into the eyes of his opponents.

coz hes short and doesnt want to risk a potential neck injury trying to stare down his foe...

 

Looking someone in the eyes can show your opponents humanity and can be a vulnerability to some fighters. Some boxers just like to look at their opponents as a target to maintain that edge.

 

I'm alone on this but eye contact with a fellow male is overrated and gay. Never really understood it to be a good way of earning someone's respect unless you're a homo trying to pick some dude up at a gay bar. I obtain people's respect through speech and action. If I don't look some dude in the eyes it's most likely because I can communicate with him just fine without having to eye **** his ugly face.
