Rigondeaux is a weird guy, even when he gives interviews his eyes are always shifty. There's something "off" about him.

The real questiojn is why are so many fighters intent on eye****ing their opponent at weigh ins.

You're pro fighters, looking REALLY HARD at someone isnt going to make one iota of difference.

I will give you the best insight as to why the Cubans don't make much eye contact during face offs.

First. The Cuban fighters are trained for " boxing matches " and not boxing fights. This means that they are not trained nor interested in brawls nor going in there to see who is the tougher man, their mission is to box/win period.

Second. Since most of their bouts come from the amateur Tournaments there's no " face offs " in those Tournaments. The boxers get ready to face each other and each enter the ring from their separate ways. Amateur boxers treat boxing as a " sport and a competition " and not as a fight!

Third. In the Cuban boxing schools they are thought not to engage in eye contact to not lose their concentration and to not get intimidated. All of the Cuban boxers are tough as nails and they aren't afraid of anyone ( and they have proven it with their actions recently and not just with words ) but the eye contact thing is nothing important for them.

its great to be interested in the guy but i think you're looking into something too much...

he probably feels uncomfortable in making eye contact, that can be caused by a variety of reasons.

But i really doubt its related to being a thief or a guilty conscience hahah, thats just plain stupid thinking. Most of the reasons are related to confidence in interpersonal communication, but NOT in one's ability, dont make that mistake.

Usually people like that are described "shy", "awkward", "avoidance", in communication attempts. So he's a man of action, not words.
