True, but it helps if you keep it tucked in. Tend to agree with the OP in that I'm almost never watching anything else if there's a Khan fight on. There's really no reason to hate on the guy. But, if you're merely assessing him, there are plenty of flaws. A case can be made that he's worse off, since the offence is scaled back but the defense is still bad. But, on the other hand, he did survive and pull out the decision, whereas I'm not sure he would have in the past.
I'll admit I'm a long time Khan hater. Hate his mouth and hate the way he's been spoon fed easy opponents after his ktfo to Prescott. Hated the fact he never gave Prescott another fight to avenge the loss although I believe he wins. Worst of all, I hate the fact he has no chin. If you got no chin, you got no place in boxing. That's the game. Maybe it's a very simplistic approach on my behalf. However, in the Garcia fight I gained a little respect for Khan in the way he got up from the KDs. He showed heart every time he got up and if he knew how to clinch/hold I reckon he could've recovered to see the fight through. He did that in this fight and I don't care how many people cry that he should've had a point deducted, his holding wasn't excessive and at most he should've got a warning. Any other fighter and it would've been hailed as a "veteran move".
Pretty much this. I'm no fan of Khan, but any serious 'fan' arguing that boxing needs one less entertaining fighter is a ****ing idiot. Khan's fight tonight had more knife-edge moments than Rigo-Donaire and Canelo-Trout added together, and despite his deficiencies, boxing needs that type of fighter to draw the casuals in.
He came to the pros with very high expatitions. A lot like Mark Breland did. Both had very good carers, but because neither has lived up the hype. They both get criticized.
This makes sense, Khan going down and all. Garcia may be racist, but he is right, brown people are no fighters. Maybe 2-3 generations down the line, once they've assimilated into a fighter country, but not first generation. Any nation that breaks into a song and dance mid fight can't possibly produce fighters.
No. It wasn't as bad as you've been reading. Just a vocal minority who probably have a little less vcash than they did a few hours ago. Truth of the matter is that Khan is a guy people love to hate. He has himself to blame for that.
