UFC 159 Jones vs Sonnen Discussion Thread - eventual SPOILERS

This is what we get for having such an exciting/great card last week. We aren't allowed to get two in a row.

 

Stoppage by dislocated thumb...anyone justify this?

Unless he complained, I don't see a reason to stop it. People break their hands all the time in fights and continue.

Yeah, he pointed it out. He just wanted it popped back in so he could keep going.

 

Right lets be positive, the womens bout fitted in nicely with this card. There is a place for womens MMA on a card beyond Rhonda

 

That's some weird shadow boxing from Jones.

 

Boran right on cue, how epic, by MMA standards, would Jones be if he trained Muay Thai exclusively for say a year. His clinch would be brutal imo, or are long linbs a detriment for that sorta thing?

 

He always looks so awkward.

 

Couldn't be more excited for Roy Nelson/Chael Sonnen.

 

Ever heard of Diesel Noi? An MT ATG knee specialist with a similar build.

However, I don't reckon Jones is a much of a kicker looks very unnatural form him and he throws everything open and wide, (weird elbows), he'd be very easy to counter, it'd take a while for him to think about taking on quality.

Oh, one miconception a proper MT clinch very rarely involves grabbing someone behind the neck MMA style.

 

He's always looked real African-American to me. So, yeah, pretty awkward.
