Teach him to loosen & rotate the hip fluidly as everything in MT works of good fast and fluid hip rotation. The reason he always looks so awkward with his strikes is his hips are tight and he never fully rotates the hip. That's why the only strike he throws that looks fluid is the straight knee as it's more about hip extension than rotation. Lots about Diesel Noi in The ATG thread.
