Couldn't agree more. As I said in another thread, he's done at top level. He has some great attributes, which will get him through fights against average opposition but NOT against the top 140lbers or 147lbers (if he still wants to move up).

some guys come to fight and styles match up a certain way. I don't think Khan is finished. He has to keep fighting and maybe box more and learn from it. He might come in next time and win the title with a 3rd round knockout.

I gotta admit I overestimated him by quite a bit in the last years.

He is involved in some of the most exciting fights currently, partly because of his weak punch resistance but he also has loads of courage and heart. Looks like he won't live up to his early promise but still worth watching whenever he fights

Isn't it usually the iron chinned fighters that end up getting hurt? Having a glass jaw, you usually go to sleep before you take on too much damage.

Every fighter knows the risks they take getting in that ring. Sad to see longterm punishment to those fighters like Khan can get but its his career his decisions. Whether he wants to continue his path or be more defensive to have a long streak ala Wlad its up to him.

Why would having no chin result in long term damage? I was under the impression it's taking lots of shots over a long period of time that gives a guy brain damage. Great chin + no defence = brain damage. No chin + no defence = getting stopped before you accumulate too much punishment

It comes with the territory. It is what it is.

It's not just boxing though. All sports. All aspects of life.

Tons of people all over cheered and mocked Tom Brady when his knee was utterly destroyed in an Week 1 of the '08 NFL season. That's no different than cheering for a fighter to get ktfo.

Tons of people watched Ware shatter his leg over and over again and talked about it. While in this case it was non-contact and essentially self-induced, is there really much difference in the reactions, considering people who either cringe or laugh both watch it repeatedly for no reason other than entertainment?

You can't tell me he didn't take a lot of punishment in there last night. When he gets rattled by one he stiffens and just stands there, opening him up to more. Between Prescott, Maidana, Garcia, Diaz and even Peterson to a lesser extent, he's taken a lot of damage for a 27 year old fighter.

Bradley would box Khan's head off.

It wasn't always this bad, believe me. He plateaued, then regressed. He has the tools, he just needs to find his identity and keep learning.
