Seriously!? Who the ****ed even payed any attention to MMA. It was a night of awesome boxing, and you are talking about butt-hugging MMA fighters. Take your ass to the WWE boards.
If your point is that this belongs in the UFC forum, that's true. I am a far bigger fan of boxing, I only watch a UFC event on occasion, usually only if GSP or Anderson Silva is fighting. My point was how ******ed all these stupid ****s talking about how gay the UFC is. ALL of those "gay guys" would kick the living **** out of them, and I'm pretty sure they won't be talking about how it's "a bunch of guys holding each other" when some guy is on top of them, elbowing their face to jelly. It's so ****ing stupid how people can't just be fans in general, someone always has to act like their interests are better.
Boxing is a 'sport' of dissecting and sometimes destroying/rendering unconscious a skilled opponent with only the use of heavily padded hands within a confined set of rules. Please educate us all in how UFC/MMA is somehow more 'refined' or more 'skilled' than this?
Of course Boxers will be more skilled at throwing punches, THAT'S ALL THEY DO. They focus solely on ONE FACET of fighting, so they are much more refined. MMA fighters have to train in punches, kicks, takedown defense, working from the guard, working from top position, executing takedowns... So yes, boxers are much better punchers than UFC fighters, because the UFC requires a much more broad skill set. Put the two in a street fight, and the UFC fighter wins, period. How many street fights are fought like a boxing match? There is no guy to break it up when someone grabs you to take you down, there are no gloves on your hands, you can elbow, headbutt, that's how real fighting goes. I like Boxing, but it's a sport. UFC is the art of COMBAT.
I watched all the boxing matches today/tonight and then watched the UFC card. The contrast is obvious and amazing. The suspense, spectacle and skill shown tonight in boxing towers over MMA in a big way. Of course, we already knew this, but tonight just proved the point more.
Hmmm, good question. I'll go out on a limb here. Might have something to do with the title of the ****ing thread and the fact it was posted on a board inundated with boxing fans.
