I like Khan.

He's not the best at his weight. He's perhaps not the most humble person in the world but that doesn't make him a bad person.

His fights are always box office and fun to watch. Perhaps people have an hard time supporting Amir because of his Golden Boy fan club who promote him like he's better than he actually his?

Khan said before the fight if he lost he would get back in the ring and i respect him for that bigger heart than you will ever have my friend lighten up a bit

 

I thought Khan was a bit nervous last night, he is coming off two defeats and this must have played on him a bit. Saying that, his defence was terrible, Barry Jones made a good point in commentary i.e. he seemed caught in two styles. Great fight though.

 

Finished as a top fighter. He is shot to ****. And is getting ko'd by the next top guy he faces.

When Khan isn't throwing combos, he looks very one dimensional, but looks like he'll win comfortably.

When he is throwing combos, he's in serious danger of getting sparked.

He gets in to a winning position when fighting one dimensionally, then he gets cocky because he's winning, starts throwing combos and gets wobbled....then it's on.

 

Khan is what he is a very fast but flawed fighter. Hunter has slowed him down instead if being combo/out repeat which was easy to read but he can't stand and box either.

I feel he's had his peak don't think he'll win a belt again. However he is always in exciting fights how anyone can complain about that is beyond me.

 

When Khan first turned over he use to bang the drum about retiring at 27, has barely mentioned it in the last 3 or 4 years (to much brain damage?). It might be wise to revisit that early plan.

 

Khan's defense and punch resistance is at an all time low, the Khan from the Maidana and Judah's fights was a very good fighter but not now.

Khan gets stopped if he fights, Lucas, Garcia or Pederson next. Maidana would stop him this time as well IMO.

 

People aren't being critical because they don't like watching great fights. Khan is always entertaining, which is a bonus against Maidana or Peterson, but when you're getting dragged into a great fight with Julio Diaz, it's not something to be praised about. Yeah, Khan's fight was entertaining but it shouldn't have been. It should have been a one sided fight, probably a stoppage, against a guy who was in his prime around six years ago and was never really world class at his absolute best.

As a fight, it exceeded expectations and turned into a very good fight. However, that should be less of a talking point than Khan's horrible performance. Khan's fans want to talk about how entertaining he is but if he'd shut Diaz out last night, those same fans would be saying how pleased they are that Khan has traded in excitement for efficiency. Against some fighters, being entertaining is great for the fans but against Julio Diaz, you'd expect efficiency and dominance.
