People aren't being critical because they don't like watching great fights. Khan is always entertaining, which is a bonus against Maidana or Peterson, but when you're getting dragged into a great fight with Julio Diaz, it's not something to be praised about. Yeah, Khan's fight was entertaining but it shouldn't have been. It should have been a one sided fight, probably a stoppage, against a guy who was in his prime around six years ago and was never really world class at his absolute best.

As a fight, it exceeded expectations and turned into a very good fight. However, that should be less of a talking point than Khan's horrible performance. Khan's fans want to talk about how entertaining he is but if he'd shut Diaz out last night, those same fans would be saying how pleased they are that Khan has traded in excitement for efficiency. Against some fighters, being entertaining is great for the fans but against Julio Diaz, you'd expect efficiency and dominance.

Spot on, Khan should have won a one sided beat-down of Julio Diaz at this stage, not win by a point or 2 with the ref constantly helping him.

Yeah I agree I just think we have to accept what he is now other fighters know if they pressure Khan and start timing his bursts they're gonna have a chance and ultimately drag him into a fight.

Might as well just accept this and enjoy his fights they will all be like this from now on IMO.

Khan just doesn't know what he wants to be. People will criticise him but before he would have lost that fight by KO, and wouldn't have shown the same composure under pressure. I think Khan did really well after the knockdown, he got up composed himself, got on his bike and stayed away and used the jab.
There's lots to be improved noticably the handspeed. Problem is he needs to fight more, he can't fight twice a year, he needs to dedicate himself again like he did under Roach.
Oh and Khan please use body punches! with that speed you could easily kill a fighter to the body, he hurt Diaz when he did do it.. about three times.
