How does HW history look if Tyson got an immediate rematch with Buster.?

    Fascinating, but plausible, scenario...

    Fab 4 ever

I'm not sure I would go so far as to say he had Tyson's number - he still had a mediocre chin and inconsistent heart/motivation, and that would always give Tyson a viable chance against him IMO.

But having said that, I do agree that he had the style and tools to trouble Tyson under almost any circumstances. People seem to overlook the fact that Douglas was not physically/mentally prepared for Tyson either - he was sick with the flu and grieving the recent death of his mother. Imagine how well Douglas would've performed if he wasn't burdened by illness/grief - maybe Tyson doesn't even get a chance to land the punch that dropped him in the 8th round?

If Buster was just as motivated, I'd bet on him beating Tyson again..but by decision or a later tko in 11 or 12..

Why would he get yelled at? Buster said it was fuel for him to win (his mother's death), so I take him at his word on that; you can see the result so you know it helped. I believe it helped him overcome a fight he never should have won..

He beat the **** out of Tyson all night; from the first bell to the end. Tyson was in agains a better man that night. Say what you will about Tyson's preparations and corner. Fight time said Buster was the better man. Don't take that away from him. He did a world-class job of whipping an ATG (in some opinions).

Intelligently put...And your right he did beat the **** out of an all time great, and yes fuel indeed!..Tysons preps and corner (or lack there of) did play a roll..using a rubber glove full of cool water for Tysons swelling is just rediculous..So yes that played a roll as well..( it didnt help any)..And on that night Buster was the better man..If they fight 9 more times do you believe he gives Tyson that much trouble again, or even beats him again?..Take Tyson out of Japan, put his ass in a training camp here in america(supervised training ofcourse because Tyson found it hard to do the right thing from here on)..make Tyson work his ass off to train for a rematch with Buster, make him show some kind of restraint and discipline and I say in the rematch Buster doesnt make it past the 5th.

The Buster that showed up that night would ALWAYS give Tyson problems.

Tokyo version of Douglas gives ANY version of Tyson trouble, due to his size and toolset and mindset.

Any other Douglas gets Knocked out

The most probable scenario is that in any rematch Douglas turns up as his normal self, thinking it will be another easy night, tyson trains hard and comes better prepared
