Is this going to be a success, other than amirs edge of your seat thriller the card was poor.In fact very poor Thing is amir could of had that fight in the usa so do you think goldenboys venture over here will bear fruit Also they said 2 or 3 top brits would sign they have ogogo,do you think joshua joins him and anybody else?
Well Khan is still going on about last night being his last in the uk(I don`t believe it for a second) I doubt thay will make much of an impact but it was a decent show to watch on tv and possibly the best in the uk this year which makes the other promters look a bit poor.
Take away headliner and the competitve fights were shocking Wilder harrison -70 second farce Flannigan campbell -horrible missmatch as a man grows old in public Plus 2 debuts 1 impressive 1 indifferent That for me plus a poor crowd adds up to a bit of a non event Lucky amir khan is so exciting
Sykes kays and godding pryce are good fights down the card for boxing fans like ourselves But golden boy are mainstream and fights like harrison wilder and campbell flannigan are not good I will go to work tomorrow and have to field questions about the death of boxing because of these uncompetitive fights and 2 debuts that dont mean **** to casual fans
I want golden boy to make a mark here Amir headlining either here or in america with ogogo and joshua learning their trade is good I just wish they would have one of our more established names to take over the pond Thing is i think cleverly was their best choice because of the bhop fight but he seems loyal (or chained to a contract) to frank Lee selby would of made an impact over there because of his style but he has been nabbed
:rofl Take away the main fight of the card just so you can slate it? It's the main event for a reason. Whatever you think of Khan the fight was one of the better fights in Britain this year. There won't be many that top that.
Even from a casual fan's point of view, I don't see how the card failed to deliver? If they see some guy that has a 100% KO ratio in his previous 27 fights, then they expect him to produce a quick finish, and that is what he did. Ogogo scored a highlight reel stoppage, Haroon was in a somewhat competitive fight for his debut, Sykes-Kays was a very solid opener etc. Flannigan-Campbell was poor, admittedly, but it looked a decent match-up on paper beforehand. The main thing is the Khan fight delivered in a big way, which is what matters most.
I am a khan fan He is a good fighter and very exciting,i always stick up for him I will have to admit defeat to you all that disagree with me but for me their were 2 farcical fights last night involving high profile fighters (not goldenboys fault) and amir saved a card that was poor I enjoyed it anyway But for me we saw 3 cards on boxnation and streams last night and today and this was the weakest
