People who keep saying BoxNation is smashing Sky

Love it that Boxnation managed to put the Judah fight on.

 

Sky have not shown a headline fight as good as Fury Cunningham this year.

 

Frampton-Martinez could be argued was a better fight beacause it involved fighters who were at the same weight but the Fury fight was fun for sure even through he mainly won because of his size.

 

Frampton & Bellews fights were better for me.....and it was 1 fight!

 

So in years to come, you will remember Bellew Chillemba more than Fury Cunningham. Okay.

 

Bellew Chilemba was not better than Fury Cunningham, I didnt see the Frampton fight.

I'm not up C5 arse either before anyone starts because, they only show Fury and the odd time DeGale and its not enough although its better than nothing.

Certainly Frampton.

 

I'm not sure Sky has backed the right fighters though. Froch is near the end of his career, Bellew isn't up to much, Brook's all flash and no fire, and Barker is liable to knock himself out with his injuries.

The only real star I see is Frampton. But hey, they only need one!

 

Agree, if Sky had Fury. My word there would be hype about him.

 

Big fan of Frampton myself, can't disagree with Froch he's only got a few fights left, Brook is capable of being a ppv attraction in the long term but he needs the Khan fight to make that big step.

Bellew and Rose will never do big numbers on tv and may have hit their ceiling.

Groves has a big chance of picking up the WBO belt.

Barker is injury prone, just bad luck on his part.

Burns will always pull in crowds in Scotland, just a case of how he's matched, hopefully be Vazquez next then off to 140 where if Khan is still around would be a huge fight.

The future does look bright with Matchroom though in regards to Campbell, smith and Yafai.

 

I think Matchroom is building the right fighters for the future, but I'm not convinced that Sky has quite got the presentation right.

I just think it's the same old, same old stuff. They don't do a very good job of explaining fighters' styles, or explaining the challenge in each division. There's no sense of narrative or history.

It's one thing I think that Bunce and Lillis do very well on BoxNation. They have a deep well of history and perspective, and they offer it up very willingly and easily.

Sky still acts like only the world of Sky matters. For example, Brook was set to fight Alexander. Why not spend 15 minutes talking about the welterweight division, who the power players are? Why not talk about Brook's style and help new viewers understand what's going on?

ESPN's pre-fight tactics are where I learned a huge amount about stylistic analysis. It made me more of a fan. HBO used to do a great job of setting the context and building a story for the fight.

Sky just doesn't do those things, IMO.
