just watched stiverne vs king. at 15:04, the incompetent ref stopped the fight even though stiverne was clearly still in his senses and in addition to this was even throwing back a right hand, a split second before the fight was halted... .:-(

i know the ref's job is to protect the fighter, but just try to watch the stoppage. c'mon...:blood

It was a little quick, but he was getting clocked. Still, it was not as devastating a KO as I thought. I thought he'd gotten laid out.

WOW. Pretty bad stoppage. He was taunting and throwing back. He did get whacked a few times, but come the **** on.

I thought he was beaten cold by a scrub. Didn't know about how bad a stoppage this was.

He took several un answered shots ,I have seen worse stoppages ,but he's bounced back from that with flying colors .

Bad stoppage, but not unusual these days.

What I mean is, you VERY often see a ref stop the fight if one fighter throws that many unanswered shots, no matter what condition the opponent is in. I personally hate it, but it is sort of considered normal these days, (unfortunately) not premature.

That ref (and many other of today's refs) would have given George Forman a TKO over Ali. It's absurd, but it's definitely expected, so no boxer today should ever go into a shell like that. Hence, it's really Stiverne's own fault.

Also, from what I can see, Stiverne was losing every round.

    terrible stoppage

today, we can officially say, thanks to video proof, that Stiverne has an at least decent chin

So you don't actually watch fighters' losses before pronouncing judgement on them. That figures.

One thing I'll say in Stiverne's favour is that Demetrice King has ridiculous punching power and is more or less immune to head trauma of any kind. He just lacks any sort of skill whatsoever.

That's some below par chin checking Zak. Perhaps your prime as a chin checker is drawing to a close

I might become a Chin Checker Checker. I'll check their chin checking- something I've done in an unofficial capacity for some time now (their work is usually excellent). Perhaps I need to take this vocation more seriously from now on :think

Yeah, i remember when Tua was unloading on him, and King was sitting back on the ropes laughing at him. There isn't too much shame getting stopped against a freaking hulk like Demetrice. That stoppage did look quite weak though.
