I categorically disagree. I've been to see a few world title boxing fights (Steve Molitor, Bernard Hopkins, etc) and they were far superior to the UFC events I saw (Seen Couture and GSP).

You are literally watching the UFC on the screen the whole time.

Every boxing main event will be popping. But the whole UFC card will give you a huge erection.

As long as heavyweight boxing is dominated by European fighters MMA will be
competitive. Whoever controls the heavyweight division controls boxing and the interest
in the sport. If a powerful American heavyweight boxer emerged like a young Tyson boxing
would trounce the UFC. Watching boxing right now is about as exciting as looking at uncooked bacon. The Klitschkos are totally dominant, Hopkins is boring and the rest are a bunch of third-world midgets who few fans know or care about. The last exciting guy killed his wife and then killed himself. Floyd fights every half decade or so and runs most if the fight. Of course, the UFC is competitive these days. How could they not be?

This may sound outrageous, but I think there's room for both sports, and you don't even have to hate one to like the other :hat

Say this American HW suddenly appears.

Who is he going to fight?

Wlad is 36 and on his way out of the door. So where are the superfights for this American superstar who doesn't exist? :conf

At least with the Klits, and Wlad in particular, boxing has a HW champion who is dominant, who is quality and who can hold his head up when standing with the historical champions and be competitive in fantasy matchups. At the moment and for the last several years we have had an undisputed HW champion and he is it.

What happens when he retires? Half a dozen meaningless belts will be passed around a bunch of nobodies and chumps. And whoever this American HW superstar is, he won't be as exciting and brutal and invincible-looking as Jon Jones is, and he won't have the depth of competition and superfight options that Jon Jones does. :good

    :hat

You're probably in a minority there. Iv been to many boxing events from Vegas to York Hall. And there's nothing on this planet that beats good ol blue collar boxing. The atmosphere is entirely different. At every MMA event iv been two the fans were too much to stomach and the action difficult to see.

**** that. It doesn't get more poppin' than 40,000 screaming Mexicans at the Alamodome. And that still wasn't better than a UFC event.

At a boxing match, the only time you're remotely pumped is during the main event. The UFC, false or not, sell every single fight as if it means the world.

Ugh. Bro that's what I'm telling you: I AM MEXICAN. (Well the Cain Velasquez type of Mexican, not the full-bred Erik Perez kind.)

In boxing, you don't even realize the men going to the ring. In the UFC, each one of those mother ****ers walks out to a ruckus crowd like a gladiator taking his last breath.

You're guaranteed like 6-10 top-15 guys EVERY UFC card.

The UFC and Dana White destroyed the "mma" landscape, so now that the UFC is going down the shitter they're dragging the whole sport down.
